A huge night from Miles Bridges isn't quite enough to beat the Cavs in Charlotte.

FINAL

Charlotte Hornets 117 (14-48) - Cleveland Cavaliers 118 (53-10)

THE BOXSCORE

WHY DID THEY LOSE? (AND OTHER IMPORTANT STORIES)

  • The Cavs had a tremendous advantage at the free throw line going 43/51…51! The Hornets shot 30 fewer going 16-21. That is an insanely large discrepancy amd 43 points at the free throw line is the most in the NBA this season.

  • Miles was scorching to start this game going for 15 in the first quarter. Hot starts are not something the Hornets can always count on so you take them any time you can. Miles has been the MVP (whatever that means) of this team for me. Nothing led to winning obviously and Miles has been Mr. Consistent.

  • Miles kept it going throughout the game and had a massive night with LaMelo being in foul trouble most of the night.

  • The Hornets lost but they finally gave the home crowd something to get excited about on a Friday night.

  • With LaMelo out Damoin Baugh played some big minutes and had some big plays. Down the stretch though the whole team had a few possessions that didn’t go as planned. Not all on Baugh of course but just something that will come with time and more experience.
