GAMENOTES: Regular Season Game #70 Charlotte Hornets (18-51) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (57-12) - March 21st, 2025
OKC is A-Ok and the Hornets are no match for the league's best.
FINAL
Charlotte Hornets 106 (18-52) - Oklahoma City Thunder 141 (58-12)
WHY DID THEY LOSE? (AND OTHER IMPORTANT STORIES)
Come on…I mean they basically put out a G-League team against the NBA’s best.
So I have no idea what you can take away from a game like this other than that is the blueprint. The Thunder, and specifically how the team has been built, is what Charlotte is trying to do…heck I suppose it’s what every team wants to do. But for another small market team to be leading the way with a roster younger than some college teams AND still have ways to get better it’s pretty impressive. The Hornets seem to be leaning that way by playing the long game but it’s just been so damn long.
OKC culture is legit…every player that went in for the home team OKC tonight played hard and at least looked like they knew what they were doing. Hard not to like and admire what they’ve built out there.
A slow start including a bunch of turnovers in the first quarter put the Hornets in a hole to start this one and that’s not where you want to be against OKC.
